US Forces Move into Kuwait-Iraq Demilitarized Zone
The US-led coalition forces have moved into the demilitarized zone along the Kuwait-Iraq border to prepare for a military attack on Iraq, a Kuwaiti security official said on Wednesday.
The US-led coalition forces have moved into the demilitarized zone along the Kuwait-Iraq border to prepare for a military attack on Iraq, a Kuwaiti security official said on Wednesday.
However, the news has not been confirmed by the US military authorities, nor by the British side.
On Tuesday, a White House spokesman said that the US troops will enter Iraq to hunt for weapons of mass destruction even if Iraqi President Saddam Hussein bows to the ultimatum issued by the United States.
"If Saddam were to leave, American forces, coalition forces, would still enter Iraq," White House spokesman Ari Fleischer said.
In a televised address on Monday, US President George W. Bush gave Iraqi President Saddam Hussein and his sons an ultimatum to leave Iraq within 48 hours or face a US-led invasion.
