Premier's Cabinet Nominations Sail Through NPC Session
The line-up of China's new State Council nominated by the new premier, Wen Jiabao, sailed through the seventh plenary meeting of the first session of the 10th National People's Congress Monday afternoon.
The line-up of China's new State Council nominated by the new premier, Wen Jiabao, sailed through the seventh plenary meeting of the first session of the 10th National People's Congress Monday afternoon, with Huang Ju, Wu Yi,Zeng Peiyan and Hui Liangyu taking up the posts as vice-premiers, Zhou Yongkang, Cao Gangchuan, Tang Jiaxuan, Hua Jianmin and Chen Zhili as state councilors, and Hua Jianmin as secretary-general (concurrently).
The others in the line-up are 26 ministers, the governor of the People's Bank of China and Auditor General.
The meeting also voted for the approval of the composition of the specialized committees of the Standing Committee of the 10th National People's Congress other than the Financial and Economic Committee, which had been approved at the beginning of the NPC annual session.
NPC Presidium Executive Chairman Ismail Amat presided over the plenary meeting, which was attended by 2,943 NPC deputies.
The following is the list of ministerial members of China's State Council, approved Monday afternoon at the 7th plenary meeting of the First Session of the 10th National People's Congress:
1. Li Zhaoxing: Minister of Foreign Affairs;
2. Cao Gangchuan: Minister of National Defense (concurrently);
3. Ma Kai: Minister in charge of the State Development and Reform Commission;
