A Chinese copper company in Zambia's Chambishi Mine made its first delivery of copper concentrates to its customer Wednesday.
Chambishi Mine is China's first overseas nonferrous metal mine, with a total investment of 150,000,000 US dollars. It delivered its first batch of 1,500 tons of copper concentrates to a French company in South Africa, and will supply a total of 15,000 tons before the end of July.
Chambishi Mine in the center of Copperbelt Province is located on a rich copper bed based on the world famous Zambia-Congo coppermine belt.
A ceremony was held in Kitwe of Copperbelt Province to celebrate the first delivery, which was attended by Chinese Ambassador to Zambia Peng Keyu and other Chinese officials and business people.
