Donations to Quake-jolted Region Exceed US$ 1 Million
Up to March 10, the Charitable Society of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region had collected 5.11million yuan of money and 3.47 million yuan worth of materials (1.04 million US dollars in total) for the quake-hit areas.

The society held a ceremony Tuesday morning in this capital city of Xinjiang to mark the seventh distribution of money and relief supplies for the quake-affected region.
The powerful earthquake with a magnitude of 6.8 on the Richter scale jolted Jiashi and Bachu counties in the northwestern China region on Feb. 24.
The devastating quake killed more than 260 people and injured at least 2,500 others.
