Multi-candidate Election to Drop 8 Nominees for NPC Standing Committee

Eight nominees will not become members of the Standing Committee of the 10th National People's Congress (NPC), China's top legislature, in a 167-159 multi-candidate election, according to methods of election and appointment adopted Monday morning at the third plenary meeting ofthe current NPC session.
