Xinjiang joins Hands with University to Boost Eco-agriculture
Northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region and Beijing-based Agricultural University of China are to cooperate in scientific research and training to boost development of efficient ecological agriculture.

A signing ceremony for a cooperative agreement was held Sunday in Beijing between the university and Wang Lequan, member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and secretary of the Xinjiang regional Communist Party committee.
Covering one sixth of China's total territory, Xinjiang is an important production base for cotton, grain, animal products, beets and fruits as well as a leading supplier of pollution-free foods, Wang said at the ceremony.
The Agricultural University of China boasts scientific researchresults in both traditional and modern agriculture and in related technologies as well as human resources.
Under the accord, the regional government and the university will established a long-term, stable partnership in scientific research, commercialization of research results and in the training and exchange of personnel.
