More than 350 VIPs in economic, financial and commercial circles all over the world will converge on Shanghai from Sept. 16 to 18 to attend the 2003 Forbes Global CEO Conference.
The conference, titled "Energizing Global Business: the China Factor", will be attended by CEOs from such world-renowned enterprises as Microsoft, Coca Cola, Nike, Nokia, Ford, Dell, Toyota, Hyundai, BMW, Exxon Mobil and Starbucks, William Adamopoulos, vice president and managing director for Asia/Pacific Forbes said Tuesday.
The annual conference, sponsored by Forbes magazine, has been held 10 times, the first eight times in the United States and the last two times in Hong Kong and Singapore.
"The prospects of the Chinese economy are good. China is the right place to invest in the new century," said Adamopoulos.
To hold such a high-level conference in China can help extend the market quickly in the country, he explained.
Forbes, with a circulation of over 1 million and about 5 million readers in business circles, will not miss the good chance to enter China's opening media market, said some observers.
Forbes opened its first overseas office in Shanghai last November and will formally issue the Chinese-edition magazine in April, according to Adamopoulos.
