Zeng Qinghong, a member of the Political Bureau Standing Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, said Thursday the achievements China made over the past five years were attributable to the joint efforts and contributions by all provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions.
Zeng made the remark when joined the deputies to the National People's Congress (NPC) from Jiangxi Province in east China, in their panel discussion on the government work report, economic and social development plan report, budget report, and the draft plan on the restructuring of the State Council, which were heard at the second plenary meeting of the First Session of the 10th NPC Thursday morning.
During the discussion, Zeng, who is also a member of the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee, lauded Premier Zhu Rongji's government work report as "very encouraging and exciting."
He hoped the people in Jiangxi would work hard to deepen reform, open still wider to the outside world, accelerate development and maintain social stability.
