Li Changchun Speaks Highly of Zhu Rongji's Report

Li Changchun, a member of the Standing Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee Political Bureau, today called for full implementation of all tasks proposed by Premier Zhu Rongji in his government work report to the first session of the 10th National People's Congress.

Li Changchun, a member of the Standing Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee Political Bureau, today called for full implementation of all tasks proposed by Premier Zhu Rongji in his government work report to the first session of the 10th National People's Congress.

Joining the Guangdong group in discussing the government work report Wednesday afternoon, Li Changchun, who had served as secretary of the Guangdong provincial CPC committee for a couple of years, said that the report has a better command of the whole situation of the country and it is full of substance. "The report will have a great bearing on the future development of the country," he added.

He stressed the necessity to break away with all ideas and thoughts that are standing in the way of development, put to an end all the practices and regulations that restrict development, eliminate all structural flaws affecting development, and pool the wisdom of the people and concentrate on economic development.
