Macao Newspaper Hails Opening of CPPCC Session
The First Session of the 10th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), China's top advisory body, will be a meeting of democracy, pragmatism, unity and enthusiasm, a Macao newspaper said Monday.

Jornal San Wa Ou noted in an editorial that the session, which opened in Beijing Monday afternoon, bears the important task of inheriting the past and ushering in the future and carrying forward the spirit of the 16th National Congress of the Chinese Communist Party.
New blood has been injected into the 10th CPPCC National Committee, enhancing the body's vigor, the paper said, adding thatthe new members will unite people from all parties, groups and circles, perform their duties earnestly and strive for a well-off society.
The 10th CPPCC National Committee will continue to serve the country's reform and opening-up drive and the reunification of the motherland, it said.
The CPPCC provided strong support for a series of important measures taken by the Party and State in the past five years, the paper recalled.
Other leading newspapers in Macao, including the Macao Daily News and Jornal Va Kio, also gave wide coverage of the national event.
