Iraq has completed the destruction of a first four Al-Samoud 2 missiles under UN supervision, a UN spokesman said Saturday.
"We can confirm that four Al-Samoud 2 missiles were destroyed today," said Hiro Ueki. He added that one casting chamber was also destroyed at another site south of Baghdad.
The procedure began Saturday afternoon, and all the four missiles were destroyed by Saturday evening, he said.
Iraq has agreed to a timetable to scrap the rest of the missiles, according to Ueki.
