Beijing Sets up New Bureau to Promote Investment

The Chinese capital of Beijing officially founded the Beijing Investment Promotion Bureau (BIPB) Thursday in an effort to provide better service to investors.

The Chinese capital of Beijing officially founded the Beijing Investment Promotion Bureau (BIPB) Thursday in an effort to provide better service to investors.

The establishment of the BIPB epitomizes the resolve of the Beijing municipal government to improve the investment environment,said Zhang Mao, vice-major of Beijing.

The BIPB is based on its predecessor, the former foreign investment service center, set up in 1998, which mainly provided policy consultancy services for investors from overseas.

The BIPB will mainly publicize relevant policies, respond to investor requests and provide comprehensive services for potential investors, said the bureau director Sun Changtai,
