China to Host Int'l Women's Volleyball Tournament in May

An international women's volleyball tournament, which features six top teams in theworld, will be held in the northern Chinese city Tianjin on May 27-31, organizers announced on Wednesday.

An international women's volleyball tournament, which features six top teams in theworld, will be held in the northern Chinese city Tianjin on May 27-31, organizers announced on Wednesday.

Italy, which won the world championship for the first time in 2002, three-time Olympic champions Cuba, Russia, Bulgaria, Australia and hosts China will compete at the round-robin event.

The prize money for the event is 1.58 million yuan (US$190,000),organizers said.
