Top Legislator Meets with Taiwan Deputies to NPC

13 people from Taiwan have been elected to represent the island province at the upcoming convention of the country's top lawmaking body, the National People's Congress.

13 people from Taiwan have been elected to represent the island province at the upcoming convention of the country's top lawmaking body, the National People's Congress.

At a meeting with the deputies, top legislator Li Peng expressed the hope that they would fulfill their responsibilities.

Li Peng also told the deputies that the mainland looks forward to a peaceful reunification of the Chinese nation with the utmost sincerity and greatest efforts.

The 13 deputies will participate in the 10th National People's Congress, which will take place in early March.
