News Center for 2003 NPC & CPPCC Sessions Put into Service

News center for the Tenth National People's Congress (NPC) and Tenth Chinese People's Political Consultative Congress (CPPCC) has been formally put into service since last Tuesday, which was set up in China Science & Technology Convention Center.

News center for the Tenth National People's Congress (NPC) and Tenth Chinese People's Political Consultative Congress (CPPCC) has been formally put into service since last Tuesday, which was set up in China Hall of Science & Technology.

Staff with the center has begun to receive and arrange for journalists to cover the two congresses.

The news center comprises a news center office, news release office, journalists liaison office divided into three groups for journals at home, from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, and abroad respectively.

The news center will offer services including documents, data, schedules and information inquiry. Besides, the center installs terminal display platforms of People's Daily Online, Xinhuanet.com and China.org.cn for journals at home and abroad to browse and inquire information.

Following the 16th Party Congress, the two significant congresses will act in the spirit of the 16th Party Congress and elect a new government. Journals to cover the two congresses are forecast no less than those of last year that registered over 2000. Moreover, the two congresses will deliver a new view: every media will actively adopt modern propaganda means for fast, fresh and unique reports.

As revealed, 1st Session of 10th NPC and 1st Session of 10th CPPCC are scheduled for March 5th 2003 and March 3rd 2003 in Beijing. According to convention, NPC and CPPCC in an election-year will last longer than usual.
