Moldovan President in S. China Island Province

Moldovan President Vladimir Voronin, who is on an official visit to China, arrived in Sanya, China's southeastern coastal city in Hainan Province Wednesday afternoon.

Moldovan President Vladimir Voronin, who is on an official visit to China, arrived in Sanya, China's southeastern coastal city in Hainan Province Wednesday afternoon.

During his meeting with the Moldovan president this evening, Hainan Vice-Governor Li Lihui briefed the guests on the province's resources and experience in economic development.

He expressed the hope that the President Voronin's visit would lay a solid foundation for future economic cooperation.

President Voronin said Moldova and China enjoy good relations, and his country is eager to learn from China's experience in economic development.

The Hainan tour has provided him with a glimpse of China's establishment of special economic zones, the president said, adding that he hopes to cooperate with Hainan in the field of economics.

Voronin came to Hainan after visiting Beijing and Shanghai.
