In an interview with the US-based CBS television network, Iraqi President Saddam Hussein has indicated his country has no plans to destroy the Al-Samoud 2 missiles as demanded by the United Nations.

UN arms experts have said the missiles have a longer range than the 150 km limit imposed by UN Security Council resolutions following Iraq's defeat in the 1991 Gulf War. Iraq maintains some of the missiles overshot the UN limit because they were tested without warheads and guidance systems.

The CBS network says during the interview, Saddam Hussein also challenged US President George W. Bush to a live, international television and radio debate on the looming US-led war against Baghdad.
