Guagnzhou Vice Mayor Chen Chuanyu says non-typical pneumonia plaguing the city recently is not yet fully controlled.
In a disease prevention and control working conference, the vice mayor says though large outbreak is curbed, situation is still grim because the disease is contagious. He urges relative departments to try all out and prevent the spread of the disease in schools and kindergartens.
The period after the Spring Festival usually sees an increase in respiratory diseases, with a large number of migrant workers returning to the city, and schools starting new semesters.
