Chunghwa Telecom, Taiwan's leading telecommunications operator, announces its partnership with China Telecom to offer a value-added enterprise solution for businesses on both sides of the straits.

The solution, supported by symmetric 512K transmissions, marked the first joint effort between the two telecommunications giants.

They will offer virtual private network technologies, which enable businesses to conduct remote monitoring, videoconferencing and distance learning operations at a much lower cost.

The solution would enable its target users, the 200,000 to 300,000 Shanghai-based Taiwan business people, to communicate with their Taiwan headquarters through videoconferencing and other applications.
