S. Korean Government to Pay Comfort Money to Victims' Families

The South Korean government plans to pay comfort money to the families of the victims of the Daegu subway fire, if the site is declared a special disaster area, the Ministry of Construction and Transportation said Wednesday.

The South Korean government plans to pay comfort money to the families of the victims of the Daegu subway fire, if the site is declared a special disaster area, the Ministry of Construction and Transportation said Wednesday.

Comfort money will amount to a maximum 20 million won(US$16,652) per victim and 10 million won each for those injured.
