About 7,000 Chinese-funded Firms Established Overseas

By the end of 2002, 6,960 Chinese-funded firms had been officially established outside China, according to latest figures from the Ministry of Foreign Trade andEconomic Cooperation (MOFTEC).

By the end of 2002, 6,960 Chinese-funded firms had been officially established outside China, according to latest figures from the Ministry of Foreign Trade andEconomic Cooperation (MOFTEC).

MOFTEC statistics that show over 160 countries and regions received investment from China, involving contracted funds of 9.34billion US dollars.

MOFTEC had decided to take further measures in Shanghai and other coastal areas to simplify examination and approval procedures concerning the overseas establishment of Chinese-fundedfirms, said MOFTEC officials.
