China Upholds Direct Dialogue on DPRK Nuclear Issue

China stressed on Wednesday that the only correct and effective approach to the solution of the nuclear issue of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) is "through direct and constructive dialogue on the basis of equality."

China stressed on Wednesday that the only correct and effective approach to the solution of the nuclear issue of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) is "through direct and constructive dialogue on the basis of equality."

Speaking at a special meeting by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Zhang Yan, Chinese ambassador to the United Nations Office in Vienna, added that China believed the key to the solution of the DPRK nuclear issue was "effective dialogue directly among the parties concerned."
