China has decided to reduce its embassy staff in Iraq, Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Zhang Qiyue said in Beijing Monday.

China has decided to reduce its embassy staff in Iraq, Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Zhang Qiyue said in Beijing Monday.

She said China attaches great importance to the safety of its nationals in Iraq. In view of the growing tense in Iraq, China has decided to cut off its embassy staff who were "not in urgent need."
