US, French Presidents Agree on Importance of Disarming Iraq
US President George W. Bush and French President Jacques Chirac agreed by telephone Friday on the importance of disarming Iraq and of working together to achieve peace in the Middle East, the White House said.
US President George W. Bush and French President Jacques Chirac agreed by telephone Friday on the importance of disarming Iraq and of working together to achieve peace in the Middle East, the White House said.
"The two agreed on the importance of disarming Iraq. They agreed to continue consultations," White House spokesman Ari Fleischer said at a regular news briefing.
During their 10-minute conversation, the US president "stressedthat France is an important ally," Fleischer said.
They also discussed the importance of working together to achieve peace in the Middle East between the Israelis and the Palestinians, Fleischer added.
