US President George W. Bush said on Thursday that it was "evident" that Iraq violated the UN Security Council resolutions.
Bush said in a statement that "the Iraqi regime's violations of Security Council resolutions are evident, and they continue to this hour."
Bush made the remarks soon after meeting with Secretary of State Colin Powell, who on Wednesday offered UN Security Council evidences claiming that Iraq still continued to conceal weapons ofmass destruction.
He said that Iraq "is pursuing an elaborate campaign to concealits weapons materials and to hide or intimidate key experts and scientists, all in direct defiance of Security Council 1441."
Bush also accused Iraq of secretly attempting to "obtain equipment needed to produce chemical, biological and nuclear weapons," adding that "Iraq has at least seven mobile factories for the production of biological agents, equipment mounted on trucks and rails to evade discovery."
The US president said that Iraq, by using these factories, has produced within just months hundreds of pounds of biological poisons.
