DPRK to Counter US Military Buildup with Tough Measures: KCNA
The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) will counter the United States' military buildup around the Korean Peninsula with powerful self-defense means, the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) said Wednesday.
The Pentagon is considering sending another aircraft carrier towaters off the Korean Peninsula in addition to the Kitty Hawk, as well as keeping B-12 and B-1 fighter-bombers alert to support the US troops stationed in South Korea, the official news agency reported.
All these actions proved that the military plan of the United States against the DPRK has been put into practice, the KCNA said in a commentary.
The United States pulled the aircraft carrier Kitty Hawk out ofa military base in Japan in January, a move widely believed to be aimed at monitoring the situation on the Korean Peninsula.
The United States is making active preparations for military attacks against the DPRK despite its rhetoric that it has no intention of invading Pyongyang, it said.
The DPRK will face the US military buildup with powerful counter-measures, as Washington is becoming more undisguised in its bid to throttle the DPRK, the KCNA warned.
In a related development, a large-scale air-defense drill was conducted in Pyongyang on Wednesday night.
