Bush Asks Macedonia to Open Territory for Iraq War

US President George W Bush has askedthe Macedonian authorities for a permit that American troops coulduse the Balkan country's territory in a possible war against Iraq,Balkan news web reported on Tuesday.

US President George W Bush has askedthe Macedonian authorities for a permit that American troops coulduse the Balkan country's territory in a possible war against Iraq,Balkan news web reported on Tuesday.

Bush also asked Macedonia to sent a special ground force once the war breaks out, according to the report reaching here from Macedonian capital Skopje.

Macedonian President Boris Trajkovski said that "we should response positively to the appeal."

After the Kosovo war, US has built a large military base in Kosovo only 100 kilometers from Macedonia and stationed 100 logistic troops in Macedonia.
