Jordan, Spain Voice Diplomatic Efforts on Iraq Issue
Jordanian Foreign Minister Marwan Moasher on Tuesday said Amman and Madrid will make more efforts to avoid a looming war against Iraq, Petra News Agency reported.

Muasher made the remarks to a press conference after a meeting with visiting Spanish Foreign Minister Anna Palatheo.
"Jordan and Spain has agreed on intensifying contacts during coming weeks in order to find a political solution to the crisis inthe region," Muasher told reporters.
For his part, Palatheo said Iraq should not only cooperate closely with the United Nations, but uncover all weapons of mass destruction to avoid a possible war against it.
As for the Palestinian-Israeli issue, the two ministers stressedthat there is a close link between the Iraqi issue and the Middle East peace process and called for "a tangible program to secure peace in the region."
Palatheo said the aim of her visit to Jordan is "to acquaint with the Jordanian viewpoint," which has proved important in the regional peace in the past century and continues to play a key rolein the current century.
Palatheo, who arrived here after Greek Foreign Minister George Papandreou paid a similar visit to the kingdom on Monday, will leave for New York on Wednesday to attend a session of the UN the Security Council.
