5 Japanese Astronauts to Attend Memorial Service in Texas

Five Japanese astronauts will attend Tuesday's memorial service for the seven crew members of the US space shuttle Columbia, Kyodo News reported Monday.

Five Japanese astronauts will attend Tuesday's memorial service for the seven crew members of the US space shuttle Columbia, Kyodo News reported Monday.

According to the National Space Development Agency of Japan (NASDA), the five Japanese astronauts are Mamoru Mohri, Chiaki MukaiSoichi Noguchi, Takao Doi and Koichi Wakata.

NASDA officials said all but Mohri are already in the United States.

The memorial service will be held at the Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas, the officials said.

Space shuttle Columbia disintegrated Saturday over Texas shortly before it was due to land, with the loss of all seven crewmembers on board.
