Chinese Foreign Minister to Attend UN Meeting on Iraq

Chinese Foreign Minister Tang Jiaxuan will attend a meeting of the United Nations Security Council on the Iraq issue to be held in New York on Feb. 5 and exchange views on the Iraq situation with his counterparts of related countries, China's Foreign Ministry announced here Monday.

Chinese Foreign Minister Tang Jiaxuan will attend a meeting of the United Nations Security Council on the Iraq issue to be held in New York on Feb. 5 and exchange views on the Iraq situation with his counterparts of related countries, China's Foreign Ministry announced here Monday.

The Chinese side has been advocating that the Iraq issue be solved under the framework of the United Nations through political means with the Security Council playing the leading role, the foreign ministry said.
