HKSAR Chief Executive Expresses Condolence on Loss of US Space Shuttle

Tung Chee Hwa, chief executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR), wrote to the USPresident George W. Bush on Sunday to express his condolences to the bereaved families over the loss of US space shuttle Columbia.

Tung Chee Hwa, chief executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR), wrote to the USPresident George W. Bush on Sunday to express his condolences to the bereaved families over the loss of US space shuttle Columbia.

Tung said in a statement that he was deeply shocked and saddened to learn of the tragic loss of US space shuttle Columbia.

The astronauts had risked their lives for the advancement of mankind and their spirit of courage and sacrifice shall be long remembered, he said.
