China Welcomes Cease-fire in Nepal

China welcomes a cease-fire between the Nepalese government and anti-government forces and the resumption of talks between them, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Zhang Qiyue said in Beijing Friday.

China welcomes a cease-fire between the Nepalese government and anti-government forces and the resumption of talks between them, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Zhang Qiyue said in Beijing Friday.

As a friendly neighbor of Nepal, China appreciates all the efforts conducive to the resumption of peace and stability in Nepal, Zhang said.

"We believe that the Nepalese government has the ability of handling its internal affairs well," the spokeswoman said, expressing the hope that "Nepal realizes peace and stability and develops its economy."
