Unknown gunmen shot dead a US civilian near Kuwait City on Tuesday, the US Embassy has confirmed.

Unknown gunmen shot dead a US civilian near Kuwait City on Tuesday, the US Embassy has confirmed.

The assailants opened fire on two Americans near a McDonald restaurant on a highway near a US military camp north of Kuwait City , killing one person and wounding the other, an Embassy spokesman said.

The Embassy identified the victims as civilian contractors working for the US military base in Kuwait.
