Russian presidential envoy Alexander Losiukov to Pyongyang for the nuclear issue of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) returned to Beijing on mid-Tuesday and will meet with a senior Chinese Foreign Ministry official again over the issue.
The Russian deputy foreign minister and Chinese Vice-Foreign Minister Yang Wenchang will further exchange views on solution to the nuclear crisis, said Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Zhang Qiyue at Tuesday's regular press conference.
Before leaving Pyongyang, Losiukov told Xinhua that his four-day visit to the DPRK was "conducive" and "constructive," but declined to give further details about his meeting with DPRK leader Kim Jong Il.
Losiukov, who had delivered a personal letter by Russian President Vladimir Putin to Kim, was reported to hand a three-point "package proposal" to the DPRK, including the nuclear-free status on the Korean Peninsula, security guarantee for the DPRK and resumption of humanitarian assistance and economic aid to the DPRK.
On his way to Pyongyang, Losiukov made a stopover in Beijing and had talks with Vice-Minister Yang Wenchang last Saturday. He is expected to leave for Moscow Wednesday.
