Iraq and the UN on Monday signed a joint statement in which Baghdad pledged to boost cooperation with the UN disarmament inspectors, a senior Iraqi official said.

The 10-point statement was signed following two-day of talks in Baghdad between top UN arms inspectors Hans Blixand and Mohamed ElBaradei, head of the UN nuclear watchdog agency, and Iraqi disarmament officials Amir al-Saadi, President Saddam Hussein's top scientific adviser, and General Hussam Mohammad Amin, head of the Iraqi National Monitoring Directorate.

The Iraqi official termed the talks as "constructive."
