Russian Envoy Highly Comments on Nuclear Talks with DPRK
Talks with the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) on the nuclear crisis on the Korean Peninsula were "active, friendly, cooperative and positive," said a high-level Russian special envoy in Pyongyang on Sunday.

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Lusyukov made the remarks after talks with Cho Chang Dok, Vice Premier of the DPRK Cabinet, Choe Tae Bok, Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea Central Committee and Kung Sok Ung, DPRK Vice Foreign Minister, said a source who declines to be named.
Lusyukov put forward Russia's package of proposals on settlement of the nuclear issue to the DPRK side during the meeting, said the source, adding that the DPRK will give its reaction to the proposals during Monday's meeting between Lusyukovand Kim Yong Nam, President of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly.
Lusyukov and DPRK officials talked about ways to solve the nuclear crisis on the Korean Peninsula, the source said, adding that Lusyukov and Cho Chang Dok concentrated on the impact of nuclear issue on humanitarian assistance to the DPRK.
The DPRK has relied on the international community for humanitarian assistance since the mid-1990s as it has suffered natural disasters for consecutive years.
It was reported that the package of proposals include bilateral and multilateral talks, strict compliance with the Agreed Framework for all sides and maitainance of security for theDPRK.
Lusyukov arrived in Pyongyang on Saturday afternoon and is expected to stay here until Tuesday.
Lusyukov met Kang Sok Ju, the first DPRK vice foreign minister,on Friday.
