Argentina, Brazil and Colombia want to host the 2014 World Cup finals, according to the South AmericanSoccer Confederation (CONMEBOL).
CONMEBOL President Paraguayan Nicolas Leoz told the press that the three countries are the most serious candidates to host the World Cup.
The official said Argentina already organized the competition in 1978 and Brazil back in 1950, while Colombia abstained from hosting it in 1986 due to economic problems, so Mexico was in charge of the tournament.
Leoz, who is in Colombia to launch several soccer schools, saidthe 2014 World Cup is "a duty" of CONMEBOL, considering that Asia,Europe and Africa had just held or are set to hold the World Cup finals.
