CPC Leader Visits Veterans, Retired Cadres, Model Workers
Senior Chinese Communist Party leader Zeng Qinghong visited a group of veteran Red Army soldiers,retired cadres, model workers and disadvantaged rural and urban residents from Jan. 9-15.
Senior Chinese Communist Party leader Zeng Qinghong visited a group of veteran Red Army soldiers,retired cadres, model workers and disadvantaged rural and urban residents from Jan. 9-15.
The places visited by Zeng, member of the Standing Committee ofthe Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) CentralCommittee, included rural parts of Yan'an city in northwest China's Shaanxi Province, rural parts of Jinggangshan city in east China's Jiangxi Province, and Shanghai.
Yan'an and Jinggangshan are China's old revolutionary bases. During his trip, Zeng urged local Party cadres to take good care of the veterans who have contributed to China's revolutionary cause and construction and work hard to ensure the well-being of disadvantaged urban and rural residents during the winter.
He also called for more efforts to create jobs for those laid off by State-owned firms and to encourage the unemployed to start their own businesses.
