Former Zambian Foreign Minister Arrested over Corruption Charges: Police

Former Zambian foreign minister Katele Kalumba were arrested for corruption charges, Zambian police said on Tuesday.

Former Zambian foreign minister Katele Kalumba were arrested for corruption charges, Zambian police said on Tuesday.

According to a police spokesman, Kalumba was arrested in the border area with the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

Kalumba would be sent to Lusaka, capital of Zambia, on Wednesday, the spokesman said.

Due to the alleged linkage to financial scandals, Kalumba offered his resignation to President Levy Mwanawasa last July.
