The Manila-based Asian Development Bank (ADB) said Wednesday that it has approved a grant of 600,000 US dollars to China for an integrated road project in its central province of Hunan.
The grant will partially cover the preparation of a plan for a 230-km expressway and local roads near the expressway, the bank said in statement.
The grant will also finance a social and poverty analysis to assess the impact of the road project on local residents and identify social mitigation measures, the bank said.
Expansion of road networks is a critical part for the infrastructure construction in China, a country with a wide-spreading territory and varying levels of development.
