China Takes Anti-dumping Steps on Imported Purified Anhydride Acid
China put in place temporary anti-dumping measures as of Tuesday against imports of purified anhydride acid made in the Republic of Korea (ROK), India and Japan, according to the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation (MOFTEC).
Investigations had revealed substantial damage to Chinese industries had been caused by the dumping of purified anhydride acid imported from those countries, MOFTEC said in a statement.
MOFTEC made the initial judgment in line with results of the anti-dumping investigation initiated on March 6, 2002 by relevant government departments.
The ministry required importers of purified anhydride acid madein the three countries to pay cash deposits to Chinese customs. The product is listed under "29173500" in the tariffs of the General Administration of Chinese Customs.
MOFTEC said final judgment on the issue would be made on the basis of further checks by MOFTEC and the State Economic and TradeCommission.
