Chinese Skiing Attracts Foreign Sponsorship
Chinese skiiers may have more chances to learn and compete in high-level international competitions in the future as a foreign firm has signed a deal with the Chinese Skiing Association to sponsor the sport in China.

Tian Younian, director of skiing department of the Winter Sports Administration, told Xinhua on Sunday that Garycom, a computer manufacturer from Austria, will help Chinese skiiers receive training in Austria and take part in high-standard competitions in European countries.
Tian said that the sponsorship will be carried out in two five-year terms. In the first five years, five players will benefit from this program while 10 in the second period.
During the ten years, Garycom will sponsor those players to compete in such top tournaments as Olympic Winter Games, World Skiing Championships and the European Cup of Skiing.
"When these players finish their training, they could become excellent coaches and will be able to guide Chinese skiing to a higher level," Tian is fully optimistic about the future of Chinese skiing.
