CPC General Secretary Stresses Importance of Study

Hu Jintao, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China has urged the entire Party, especially its leading cadres, to constantly improve their understanding of Marxist theory and acquire more knowledge of modern science and culture.

Hu Jintao, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China has urged the entire Party, especially its leading cadres, to constantly improve their understanding of Marxist theory and acquire more knowledge of modern science and culture.

Hu Jintao made the call at a session attended by all members of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee focusing on China's Constitution.

Hu Jintao says all members of the Political Bureau have agreed to further improve their study to meet the needs for the development of various undertakings of the Party and the country, and to live up to the great expectations of the Party and the people.

The general secretary says all leading cadres should give priority to the study of Marxism-Leninism, Mao Zedong Thought and Deng Xiaoping Theory, as well as the important thought of the "Three Represents."

Hu Jintao also says efforts should be made to create a fine atmosphere of respecting, observing and safeguarding the Constitution in Chinese society.
