China's FAW Plans Huge Diesel Engine Parts Project
China FAW Group Corp, the country's leading auto maker, has planned to invest 1.5 billion yuan (182 million US dollars) in a project producing diesel engine parts using German technology.
China FAW Group Corp, the country's leading auto maker, has planned to invest 1.5 billion yuan (182 million US dollars) in a project producing diesel engine parts using German technology.
Construction of the new plant will start in Dalian City, northeast China's Liaoning Province, next year. It will produce 30varieties of parts of diesel engines using technology imported from the German company Deutz.
According to the plan, the diesel engine plant will have a producing capacity of 50,000 key parts for diesel engines a year as of 2006, and the capacity will be expanded to 80,000.
The Dalian Diesel Engine Company, a subsidiary of the China FAW Group Corp, and the Dalian city government signed an agreement Tuesday on the use of a piece of land covering 300,000 square meters as the site of the planned plant.
The company has produced 96,000 diesel engines this year with sales revenue totaling 2.3 billion yuan (280 million US dollars).
