Hu Jintao Congratulates Mbeki on Re-election as ANC President

Hu Jintao, general secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), Friday sent a congratulatory message to South African President Thabo Mbeki on the occasion of his re-election as president of the African National Congress (ANC).

Hu Jintao, general secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), Friday sent a congratulatory message to South African President Thabo Mbeki on the occasion of his re-election as president of the African National Congress (ANC).

"Delighted upon hearing your re-election to the post of president of the African National Congress, I wish to extend to you, on behalf of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and on my own behalf, sincere and warm congratulations," Hu said in his message.

Hu wished Mbeki every success in "this lofty post" and expressed the hope that the existing friendly cooperative relations between the CPC and the ANC would be strengthened constantly and the relations of mutual benefit and cooperation between China and South Africa develop steadily.
