A poverty relief project jointly sponsored by China and Germany has been completed in central China's Henan province after fours years in construction.
The project, with a planned investment of more than 12 million yuan -- of which nearly 47 percent is from the German side -- covers nine regions in southwest Henan's mountain area and includes water supply, irrigation, water conservation, and training.
A survey shows that the project will solve the drinking water supply issue for more than 2,600 households and nearly 9,000 head of livestock in 62 villages and produce an annual income of three million yuan for the project area.
