CPC Greets ANC on Party Conference
The Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) on Monday extended warm congratulations to South Africa's African National Congress (ANC) on the opening of its 51st National Conference.
The Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) on Monday extended warm congratulations to South Africa's African National Congress (ANC) on the opening of its 51st National Conference.
As a party of glorious revolutionary traditions, the ANC led the South African people in their arduous struggles against apartheid, which culminated in the birth of a new South Africa, said the message.
The message was delivered by Wang Jiarui, alternate member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, in Stellenbosch, Western Cape, where South African President and ANC Chairman Thabo Mbeki opened the ANC conference by calling for nationwide efforts to enhance peace and stability in the country.
The African National Congress is South Africa's ruling party with a total of 700,000 members across the country.
The message says: "Since coming into office, the ANC has always deemed the social and economic transformation of South Africa as her own responsibility and has taken vigorous measures to advocate national reconciliation and promote reconstruction and development of the country."
It says the CPC and the ANC enjoy profound and long-standing friendship. Recent years have witnessed new developments in the friendly and cooperative relations between the two parties.
The message says the CPC is ready to work together with the ANC to contribute to the all-round development of the friendly relations of cooperation between China and South Africa by constantly expanding their contacts and exchanges.
