Over 100 Feared Dead in Boat Accident in Liberia

More than 100 people have been feared dead after an overcrowded boat capsized in northwestern Liberia, according to reports Monday from Monrovia.

More than 100 people have been feared dead after an overcrowded boat capsized in northwestern Liberia, according to reports Monday from Monrovia.

The reports said the tragedy occurred last Saturday at the confluence of the Maffa River and Lake Piso in the Grand Cape Mount County.

Only 13 of nearly 120 people on the boat survived and 50 bodieshad been recovered with the remaining passengers still missing, the reports said.

The rescue operations were continuing on Monday, the reports added.
