Northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous registered a record US$2.34 billion in foreign trade in the first 11 months of the year, up 45.8 percent from the same period last year.

The region achieved a growth of 85 percent in its exports worth US$1.11 billion from January to November, the highest growth rate in the country, said sources from Urumqi Customs.
The remote region recorded exports mainly via barter and general trade. The main export commodities were garments, footwear and cotton.
