South Africa Ready for ANC Congress
South Africa's ruling party, the African National Congress, declared on Sunday night that it was upbeat about its state of preparedness for its 51st conference on Monday.

The conference will be opened by South African President and ANC Chairman Thabo Mbeki, who leads 700,000 members across the country.
According to the program on Monday, Mbeki will deliver the political report and then followed by the organizational report by Secretary-General Kgalema Motlanthe.
Deputy Secretary-General Thenjiwe Mtintso told reporters in Stellenbosch, about 1,400 km south of Johannesburg: "Our ducks arein a row."
Mtintso said about 5,000 people were invited to attend the meeting. That included 500 staff members, security personnel and service providers.
By 6 p.m. on Sunday, 3,892 representatives had been registered,including 255 media members.
The conference would include discussions of policy and a program of action.
Nominations for the six top officials were expected to be completed by Tuesday night.
